Earth Day may be celebrated on April 22, but at WIN Waste Innovations, our commitment to the environment extends far beyond a single day. Throughout April, our teams partnered with communities across the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic and Midwest to support cleanups, recycling events and environmental education initiatives. From local parks and schools to riverbanks and neighborhood streets, 75+ employees rolled up their sleeves and worked alongside residents to make a visible difference where it matters most.

Taking Action in Communities Across Our Footprint
This year’s Earth Month efforts spanned more than 30 events, each tailored to meet the unique needs of the communities we serve.
In Ohio, our team supported an Annual Shred Day in Heath, helping residents securely dispose of sensitive documents and reduce waste responsibly. In Massachusetts, we partnered with towns like Westport, Shrewsbury, Franklin, Taunton and New Bedford to provide cleanup supplies, dumpsters and hands-on volunteer support for local litter cleanup days.
Across Greater Boston, our teams participated in multiple Earth Day cleanups, including events in West Bridgewater, Worcester, Saugus and along the Charles River. These efforts helped remove litter from shared spaces, protect local waterways and create cleaner environments for residents to enjoy.
In Connecticut and New York, we supported initiatives such as the Somers E-Waste Recycling Day and Peekskill’s Parks Cleanup Day, helping residents recycle responsibly while keeping public spaces clean and accessible.
Supporting Environmental Education and Partnerships
Earth Month is also about education and engagement. In Westport, Connecticut, we partnered with Green Farms Academy, working with students from grades 4 through 12 to showcase environmental initiatives and encourage the next generation of sustainability leaders.
In Baltimore, our team participated in a school garden planting at Hamilton Elementary and supported community cleanups alongside local organizations such as Young Successful Leaders and the Rosemont Community Association. These events not only improved neighborhood spaces but also created opportunities to connect with residents and promote long-term environmental stewardship.
We also partnered with organizations like Groundwork Bridgeport for garden cleanups focused on strengthening local green spaces and supporting community-driven environmental efforts.
More Than a Service Provider
At WIN Waste, sustainability goes beyond the essential services we provide every day. Earth Month is a natural extension of our mission, bringing our people into the communities we serve to take action and make an impact.
Whether sponsoring a recycling fundraiser in Shrewsbury, supporting environmental events like Seeds of Change in Ohio, or helping municipalities host safe and effective cleanup events, our teams demonstrated what it means to be a reliable, community-focused partner.
These efforts matter to our customers and partners. They show that we are invested not only in managing waste responsibly, but also in helping communities meet their environmental goals and create cleaner, healthier places to live and work.
Keeping the Momentum Going
While Earth Month has come to a close, the impact continues. The relationships built, the spaces improved, and the momentum created throughout April will carry forward into the months ahead.
We are proud of every WIN Waste team member who participated and grateful to the community partners who worked alongside us. Together, we are building stronger communities and a more sustainable future.
